Kirik Party Kannada Movie Review
Kirik Party, the last Kannada release of 2016 is directed by Rishab Shetty and stars Rakshit Shetty in the lead role. Let's find out how the movie is, in this review.
Kirik Party is a college film. It's the story of first year students in an engineering college. However, the central character of Kirik Party is Karna, played by Rakshit Shetty. The other characters are basically a 'come and go' in Karna's life. Kirik Party is his story of friendship, love and adventures in his college life; and the change that he goes through in college, from a jovial, carefree adolescent into a serious personality.
The strength of Kirik Party is that, it keeps it simple and realistic. There is no over-exaggeration. Be it characters, dialogues or situations. And this makes you instantly connect with the film, bringing back memories of your college days.
Kirik Party takes its own time to create a nice prelude for the rest of the film; it doesn't rush through. There is careful and thorough development of the characters, and the narration is detailed. Rakshit Shetty has got good writing skills and it shows in the film. The screenplay is free-flowing and steady and the editing is crisp. And just like Rakshit Shetty's previous films, there is attention to detail in every frame; showing that it is a carefully crafted film. It's actually those easy-going good-humoured dialogues, and cheerful and carefree characters which make Kirik Party an enjoyable watch.
Kirik Party is a beautifully shot film. Kudos to the cinematographer for such aesthetically pleasing camera work. The sets, costumes and locations are very much appreciable. The background score by Ajaneesh Loknath blends well with the film. Rishab Shetty who earlier directed 'Ricky', again proves that he is a capable director.
Rakshit Shetty, as usual, does a good job at playing Karna. It's nice to see him doing good and quality films like Ulidavaru Kandante, Ricky and Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu. And Kirik Party is another addition to that list. I hope he continues doing better films. The newcomers, Rashmika and Samyukta do justice to their respective roles.
Going for a movie in the morning is quite risky. If it happens to be bad film, it will spoil your mood for the rest of your day. Still, I ventured out for the morning show of Kirik Party. But the trailer of the film had me quite assured that this will be a decent enough film. And Kirik Party turned out to be good film far exceeding my expectations.
Kirik Party is a breezy relaxing watch. It makes you nostalgic. Kirik Party is a well-made film, that well worth a watch.
