xXx: Return of Xander Cage Movie Review
Deepika Padukone's international debut film, xXx: Return of Xander Cage is here! and it got released in India, a week before its US release. The so much publicized and hyped xXx is finally here. Does it live up to its hype? Let's find out.
I haven't watched the previous two films of xXx series. So, I don't know much about the basic theme or setting of this movie franchise. For me, xXx: Return of Xander Cage was more on the lines of Fast & Furious 5/6. The main thread of the storyline is similar. From, the lead actor getting hired by an agency to chase bad guys and him recruiting his own team team; to, speeding cars, guns and explosions; xXx 3 reminds you of F&F 5/6 and to some extent, Expendables 3. It actually feels like a mixture of action movies that you have already seen. Nonetheless, xXx 3 is a totally entertaining action film.
The story of xXx3 revolves around a device called 'Pandora's Box', which gets stolen and Xander is hired by the CIA to get the device back. And in pursuit of the 'Pandora's Box', Xander learns things that he shouldn't have, and that puts his life in jeopardy.
The plot basically is an excuse for its cast to go crash! boom! bang! and to serve all kinds of action scenes and stunts. Even though some of the action scenes or stunts are over-the-top, they are well choreographed and are totally pleasing. xXx: Return of Xander Cage has enough high voltage action scenes to satisfy the action movie fans.
xXx: Return of Xander Cage is Vin Diesel's film and he is there from the first to the last scene, doing what he does best. The diverse cast of the film is there to get that global appeal and to boost its box office performance. It's a money-spinner formula that Vin Diesel has gotten hold of and he is surely going to milk as much as he can, with his Fast & Furious and XXX franchises.
xXx: Return of Xander Cage showcases Deepika Padukone in a never seen before avatar. And she totally nails it on screen. If you are going to watch xXx: Return of Xander Cage for Deepika Padukone, you won't be disappointed. It's a must watch for Deepika fans.
It's paisa vasool entertainment. If you are an action movie junkie, then you got no reason to miss this film. For others, xXx: Return of Xander Cage is popcorn entertainment; if you go easy on the film and suspend your disbelief, then you ll be able to enjoy xXx thoroughly.
