Simmba is an action comedy drama starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in the lead roles. Simmba is directed by Rohit Shetty of 'Singham' and 'Golmaal' series fame. The story of 'Simmba' revolves around a corrupt Police Officer, Sangram Bhalerao (Ranveer Singh). The film released on 28th December 2018, certified 'U/A' with the runtime of 159 minutes. I suspect this film will polarize viewers. There will be those who will enjoy the broad-strokes storytelling and gladly submit to the overt manipulation. Others might have a problem with the clunky messaging.

But overall, Simmba is a potboiler that you expect it to be, where the good surely outweighs the bad.

Simmba is not only ahead of Singham, but far superior to Dabangg, the blockbuster that defines the genre.

The only reason to watch Simmba is Ranveer Singh. The actor is fully alive to the moment, knowing that he is working in a template, aware that he has to keep breaking out.
