The theatrical run of the Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer '2.0' has almost come to an end with the release of the big films like Zero, KGF and Simmba. Apart from the few shows in the weekends in a few select cities, '2.0' has completed its run at most of the other places.
'2.0' had a good run at the box office, which is at the expected levels. The film took a huge opening at the box office all across the country on day 1. Even though the box office collections slightly went down on day two, '2.0' had an amazing business at the box office on Day 3 (Saturday) and Day 4 (Sunday). '2.0' took advantage of the 4 day release weekend, due to its Thursday release, as it amassed huge numbers at the box office, giving it a great start, to recover its huge production costs, which are estimated to be around 600 crore rupees.
The film sustained quite well on Monday, after a huge first weekend, with acceptable levels of drop in the box office collections. 2.0 ended its first week at the box office with the reported collections of 120 crores.
2.0 held its foot strongly in its 2nd week, even with the release of new films like Kedarnath. 2.0 churned out consistent numbers at the box office in the second week.

2.0 had opened to a mixed response from the critics. The audience word-of-mouth which towards the positive side, worked well for 2.0 in getting good footfalls. The film is a visual spectacle. The world class 3D, CGI and VFX were praised by both the critics and the normal moviegoers. It was evident with the 3D version getting more footfalls than the 2D version.
2.0 is a clean movie with no sleaze, vulgarity and profanity, and this helped in getting the family audience and kids to the theaters. boosting the box office perspectives of the film.
The Hindi version of the film did exceedingly well, and collected around 190 crores at the time of this report. We do not have enough data about the Tamil and Telugu versions.
