Gripping, tense and unpredictable, despite being a slow-burn western, Chaubey’s period thriller makes for a riveting watch.

Sonchiriya is more a display of wonderful cinematography through which the aridness of the Chambal is lensed, than an exploration of despairing people on the edge of the wedge.

Sushant Singh Rajput and Ranvir Shorey’s bandit drama gets a lot right but the slow pace keep it from being a great film.
