The Hollywood superhero film, Avengers: Endgame, which was looming over the box office like a storm waiting to hit, has made landfall on Friday 26th April. The film opened to an enormous response at the Indian box office, as it collected record-breaking numbers on its first day. 'Avengers: Endgame' (All versions: English + Hindi + Tamil + Telugu) collected around ~54.20 crores on its first day at the Indian box office, which is only behind 'Bahubali: The Conclusion' and '2.0'.
'Bahubali: The Conclusion' (all versions) had clocked around ~122 crores, and '2.0' (all versions) around ~55.5 crores on Day 1 at the box office.
Avengers: Endgame was released only in around approximately 2800 screens in India, as the film release was only allowed in cinema halls equipped with minimum 2K resolution projectors, satisfying the DCI norms. The number of screens in which Avengers: Endgame was released in, is comparatively and significantly less than the huge first day grosser films at the Indian box office. The advance bookings for the film were totally on fire, as shows even as early as 2AM and 3AM were packed with the audiences. The craze was not just limited to the Metros and the Tier-1 cities, as even the Tier-2 and smaller towns also joined the fun bringing in impressive numbers. The Bollywood biggie, Kalank, which was in its second week at the box office, totally sank against Avengers, as Kalank collected a paltry ~65 lakhs on its second Friday.
Avengers: Endgame again hit the 50 crore mark on Day 2, as it collected ~51.05 crores on Saturday, which takes the first two days total box office tally to ~105.25 crores.
Day 3 Update: Avengers Endgame collected more than its Friday collections, as the film did a business of around an estimated ~55.75 crores on Day 3 (Sunday) at the box office. The first weekend collections now stand at around ~161 crores.
Day 4 Update: The last installment of the Avengers film franchisee, 'Avengers: Endgame', had another huge day at the box office on Monday. Even after the three consecutive gigantic days at the box office, where it collected more than 50 crores on all three days, the drop on Monday is a minimal ~38% from Friday's collections. The film collected around ~33.80 cr. on Day 4, which is a tremendous feat to achieve on Mondays. Avengers: Endgame has so far collected ~195 crores at the Indian box office from four days, and looking at the current trend, the film might add another 80-85 crores by the end of its first week inching very close to 300 crores.
Day 5 Update: The film was steady on Tuesday (Day 5), as the drop from Monday to Tuesday was minimal. Avengers: Endgame collected around ~30 cr. on its fifth day at the box office, and the overall India box office total for the film stands at around ~225 crores.
Day 6 Update: Avengers: Endgame saw a rise in its box office collections on Day 6 (Wed) on the occasion of 'May Day' which is a holiday across the country. The Wednesday collections are slightly higher than Monday collections. The film collected around an estimated ~34.15 crores on its sixth day at box office India. The total six days India collection of Avengers: Endgame stands at around ~259 crores.
Day 7 Update: Avengers: Endgame, which had by far held excellently at the box office in the weekdays with the help of the holiday on May 1st, fell on Thursday at the box office. The drop is around ~40% from Wednesday to Thursday. The film collected around an estimated ~19.85 cr. on Thursday, taking the overall first week box office total to around ~279 crores.
