Kavaludaari; HIT or FLOP?Kavaludaari Box Office Collection Details
The Kannada suspense-thriller film, Kavaludaari, finally released on April 12th after long and repeated delays in its release. The film was originally scheduled to release in early December 2018, but was then postponed to January 2019, and then to March, and finally released in April. The film is produced by Star Kannada actor Puneet Rajkumar's 'PRK Productions'. Kavaludaari is directed by Hemanth M Rao of 'Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu' fame. Looking at the current box office performance of 'Kavaludaari', Hemanth M Rao might have another box office HIT after GBSM.
Kavaludaari took a surprisingly good opening at the box office, considering that it is a niche multiplex film with a relatively lesser known actor as its lead. The film collected around ~32 lakhs on its first day at the box office. The opening day collection of Kavaludaari is only slightly less than Kavacha's collection, which had collected around ~35 lakhs on its first day. The lead actor of the film, Rishi, is only one film old. His previous film was the comedy-suspense-thriller 'Operation Alamelamma'. So, the first day collections are definitely encouraging for the film.
Kavaludaari showed a massive 70% growth at the box office on Saturday (Day 2). And, the film almost tripled its first day collections on Sunday (Day 3). The film sustained amazingly well at the box office on Monday, as it collected more than its Friday collections! Kavaludaari has held extremely well in the weekdays, as the collections saw almost 0% drop throughout the first week. This shows the film's excellent trending at the box office, and confirms the audience positive word-of-mouth publicity.
Kavaludaari has a solid hold even at the beginning of its second week at the box office, as the second Friday collections and the first Friday collections are almost the same. Going by the trend, Kavaludaari is most certain to put up another good show at the box office in its second weekend.
End of 2nd Weekend Update: As expected, Kavaludaari continued its good show at the box office in the second weekend. The film recorded good growth on Saturday and Sunday, and collected around ~1.15 cr. in its second weekend (Fri + Sat + Sun). Kavaludaari, at the end of its second weekend has collected an overall (10 days) box office total of around ~4.2 cr. In comparision, the recent box office HIT, Bell Bottom, had collected an overall (10 days) total ~2.95 cr. at the end of its second weekend.
End of 2nd Week Update: Kavaludaari saw its first major drop in collections on second Monday. Otherwise, the film was quite steady in week two and put up a good total of ~1.76 cr. at the box office. The overall box office total at the end of 2nd week stands at around ~4.8 cr.
End of Third Week Update: Kavaludaari was pretty steady at the box office in its 3rd week, and addded another ~1.04 cr. to its box office total in week 4. The overall total now stands at around ~5.84 cr.
