The first day advance booking for 'De De Pyaar De' has been shockingly below-average so far, specially in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Pune, where the film has maximum number of shows and screens. The advance booking was expected to be better than the current bookings. As usual, Hyderabad once again leads the advance ticket booking with around ~18.5% seats booked from 169 shows. The number of screens in Southern India for 'De De Pyar De' are less than the recently released 'SOTY 2', but to compensate for that, the number of screens in Northern India, specially in Punjab and Delhi-NCR are significantly more. The overall number of shows and screens are slightly more than 'SOTY 2'.
But, looking at the advance booking numbers, the film might just be able to reach the double digit mark. The film has paid previews on the night of 16th May, before the day of release, and if the film manages to impress the audience and gets good word-of-mouth publicity on the ground levels and on the social media, the spot bookings may noticeably increase tomorrow leading to opening day box office figures of around ~12 crores mark. Because of the paid previews, the critical reception will also play a role in De De Pyar De's first day box office performance.
