The political film named 'PM Narendra Modi', which is claimed to be the biography of the current Prime Minister of our country, Narendra Modi, got off to a poor start at the box office. The film managed to collect just around ~2.75 crores, where most of the collections came from the multiplexes. The film was almost a no-show at the single screens. 'PM Narendra Modi' is released alongside the Hindi action-thriller 'India's Most Wanted' and Hollywood release 'Aladdin'.
Even though PM Modi's first day collection is on the lower side, but it is better than the other simultaneous release, 'India's Most Wanted', which collected even less at the box office. 'PM Narendra Modi' was released just a day after the Parliamentary Election results, but the resounding Lok Sabha elections victory hasn't converted into footfalls at the box office. Seems, the supporters are happy, relaxed and relieved after the humongous win, that they are no longer interested in this film. But, even the film has lost its purpose as well by releasing after the elections. But, this ain't the film's fault, as its original release date was timed perfectly, just before the Lok Sabha elections, when the atmosphere in the country was highly favourable. And, had the film been released on its original scheduled date in April, the film would've easily crossed the 5 crore mark on Day 1. Unfortunately for the film, that did not happen, as the Election Commission banned the film's release, saying that it disturbs the level playing field.
The film is unlikely to show any big growth over the weekend, as it will only be patronised by a limited set of audience.
PM Narendra Modi opened to negative reviews from the critics, and the audience word-of-mouth is mixed slightly leaning towards the positive side, going by the initial ground reports from the cinemas.
