Game Over; HIT or FLOP?Game Over Box Office Collection Till Now
'Game Over', featuring actor Taapsee Pannu in the lead role, took a decent opening at the box office this Friday. 'Game Over' is the best collecting film at the box office among the other Hindi releases this week. But, last week's release, 'Bharat', had more collections this Friday than all of this week's new Hindi movies put together.
'Game Over' released alongside Prabhdheva and Tamanna starrer 'Khamoshi', which was consistently 'Khamosh' at the box office, and failed to put-up a respectable first day total. Khamoshi collected just under ~10 lakhs with almost around ~300 screens at its disposal. Game Over, on the other hand, collected close to ~1 crore on its first day at the box office (inclusive of all the three versions; Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu). The collections are decent-good, considering that 'Game Over' is a niche film with a female lead, and has no 'Stars'. These kind of films grow at the box office based on the audience word-of-mouth and the critical response, and will eventually find their target audience if the film turns out to be good.
'Game Over' showed very good growth on its second day at the box office, as it doubled its first day collections. The film again put-up good numbers on Sunday, leading to an overall good first weekend at the box office. The film held excellently well on Monday as it showed zero drop from its Friday collections, and in fact, the Monday collections are slightly better than Friday's! This shows that the film is finding appreciation from its audience, and might continue to collect well in the days coming.
'Game Over' opened to positive-to-mixed reviews from the critics, and the audience word-of-mouth is leaning towards the positive side, going by our initial ground reports from the cinemas.
