Super 30 saw an astounding growth in its box office collections on its second Saturday. The morning and the afternoon shows' occupancy on Saturday (Day 9) were slightly better than Friday (Day 8), but the real surge in collections came from the evening and the night shows. 'Super 30' collected around an estimated ~8.15 crores on its 9th day at the box office; and the Friday (Day 8) to Saturday (Day 9) growth in collections is more than ~70%. The film had collected around ~4.75 crores on its second Friday holding strongly at the box office. This remarkable growth on second Saturday has boosted the box office prospects of the film and is looking towards a good second weekend collections of around ~22 crores.
Although there were no new significant Bollywood releases with week at the box office to compete with 'Super 30' which has obviously helped the film to hold strong and take a good growth at the box office, the Hollywood film 'The Lion King' has taken away a good chunk of screens from 'Super 30' and is competing with 'Super 30' at the multiplexes among the children and family audience. Hence, this good growth on Day 9 holds significance.
