Decent-Good Start on Day 1Super 30 Day 1 Box Office Collection Details
Super 30 took a decent-good start at the box office by collecting around an estimated ~11 crores on its first day. The film started on a low note in the morning, and gradually bettered towards the evening and the night shows with a healthy increase in the footfalls. Super 30 did a lot better in the multiplexes of the Metros and the Tier-1 cities compared to the multiplexes in the Tier-2 cities and smaller towns and in the single screens all-over.
Super 30 got released in around an estimated ~3000 screens across India (See our 'Super 30 Screen Count & Advance Booking Report'), and is the solo Bollywood release this Friday. Hence, the film would've expected to at least collect in the range of 13-14 crores, but, as the film lacks the usual commercial elements and has no mass appeal, it was always going to be difficult, as it caters more to the urban multiplex audience and has almost nothing for the single screen movie-goers. The pre-release buzz and interest in the film was only decent-to-good, and the average first day advance booking reflected that fact. However, the good audience word-of-mouth may turn the tide in favour of 'Super 30' in the days coming at the box office. The Cricket World Cup is also finished, and there are no major movie releases for at least the next two weeks. So, the film has a good favourable environment for it to perform at the box office, and if the film manages to impress its audience, it can have a good run at the box office.
Super 30 opened to average-to-good reviews from the critics, and the audience word-of-mouth leaned towards the positive side, going by our audience response samples collected at the multiplexes. The film should show good growth on Saturday and Sunday to put up a good first weekend total that would give the film a good base/platform going into the weekdays.
