Moderate Drop On FridayMission Mangal Day 2 Collection
'Mission Mangal', after a huge start at the box office had a moderate drop in its collections on Day 2. The drop in collection is around ~50%. The film collected around an estimated ~15 crores (early estimate) on its second day at the box office, which takes the two days collection total to around ~43.5 crores. The occupancy in the morning shows was around ~20-25%. The afternoon and evening shows had an occupancy rate of around ~30-35% and ~65-70% respectively. The film's occupancy spiked from the evening shows onwards as footfalls doubled in the evening/night shows compared to morning/afternoon shows.
The Independence Day holiday on Day 1 had hugely boosted the film's collections, and as Day 2 is a normal working day, collections were bound to decrease. And, the hold on Day 2 by 'Mission Mangal' is a lot better than what 'Gold' had done at the same time last year. The film should again see a good rise in collections in the weekends, to post a good 4-day 1st weekend total which would set the platform for the film going into the weekdays.

'Mission Mangal' released in around ~3100 screens at the box office, while 'Batla House' released in around ~2000 screens across India. 'Mission Mangal' opened to mixed reviews from the critics, and the initial audience word-of-mouth is also mixed, based on our audience response samples collected on Day 1.
