'Bharaate' took a decent opening at the Sandalwood box office on its first day. But, the opening is underwhelming, as the film was expected to do better than its current Day 1 box office performance, considering that 'Bharaate' was the only relatively big Kannada film to release at the Sandalwood Box Office this Friday. But, looks like 'Bharaate' hasn't reached the levels that it could've on its opening day.
'Bharaate' had around 265 shows in Bangalore on its first day, and only around 10% of the seats were advance booked till the night before the release (at the time of our report: 11 PM, 17 Oct). The overall Day 1 advance booking across Karnataka was also on the similar lines to Bangalore. The advance ticket booking was uninspiring to say the least. The film did better business at the single screens than the multiplexes, which is the case for most of the masala action Kannada films.
Going by the current trending at the box office, Bharaate's 1st day collection can around the 60-70 lakhs mark (Early estimate only. More accurate collection estimate will be updated later). UPDATE: 'Bharaate' has collected around ~1.50 crores on Day 1 at the box office. The opening is actually better than many low and mid-budget Kannada films that released this year.

Bharaate Pre-release Prediction & Analysis
The Kannada action drama film, 'Bharaate', featuring actor Sri Murali in the lead role, is getting released this Friday 18th October. The film has been in the making for a long period now, and its first teaser was released back in December 2018. The film is finally hitting the screens this Friday, which also marks actor Sri Murali's return to the big screens after a long gap. In this post, we'll try to analyse the box office prospects of the film and predict the first day box office collection of the film.
The films seems to be an out-and-out commercial masala action movie, if we go by the trailers and teasers. It has been named as 'Bharaate'. The Kannada word 'Bharaate' is an ambiguous word with multiple meanings depending upon the situation, usage and the context. Here, since the movie is a 'Hero' glorifying action film, meaning of 'Bharaate' in the film's context would be Intensity. Now, let's talk about the film's release. 'Bharaate' doesn't have much competition from the Kannada films that released in the previous weeks as most of them are done and dusted; and apart from a few small-scaled releases this week, there are no other big Kannada films releasing along with 'Bharaate'. And, even from the neighboring film industries like Tamil and Telugu, there are no big releases this week that could hamper 'Bharaate's collections at the box office. Bollywood also has only small-scaled releases this week, notable films among them are 'Laal Kaptaan' and 'Ghost'. So, the path is clear for 'Bharaate' for at least till next week, where big-budget big-star films are scheduled for release on Diwali. But, 'Bharaate' has a good one week clean period to work its magic at the box office and impress its audience.
The trailers of the film have found a pretty good response on Youtube, and they have also definitely managed to boost-up the pre-release buzz levels for the film. The promotions and publicity for the film have been good as well. And, we have to wait, to see if all of these can translate into footfalls at the box office. But, going by the buzz, 'Bharaate' should definitely get at least a decent opening if not big. But, does actor Sri Murali still hold that box office pull after 'Rathaavara' and 'Mufti' to ensure a good opening for Bharaate? And, 'Bharaate' is Sri Murali's first release at the Kannada box office after a gap of almost 2 years. His last release was the box office HIT, 'Mufti'.
Sri Murali had found massive success through the 2014 action film 'Ugramm' which was directed by Prashanth Neel of 'KGF' fame. The film gave actor Sri Murali a new lease of life in the film industry and also gave a firm boost to his sagging career. 'Ugramm' helped him in his complete image makeover as an action hero, and the 'Roaring Star' Sri Murali was thus born. Sri Murali tried to repeat the 'Ugramm' success through his next film 'Rathaavara' but the film din't reach the expected levels of success. In 2017, Sri Murali had another HIT in form of film 'Mufti', an action film, which also had actor Shiva Rajkumar as co-lead. 'Mufti' had collected around ~1.75 crores on Day 1 at the Sandalwood box office back in 2017. And, we believe 'Bharaate' should at least get an opening of close to one crores.

Overall, 'Bharaate' is all set for a decent-good first day at the Kannada box office, and might collect around 0.50-1.00 crores on day 1. The film might see a good growth in its collections in the later days depending upon the audience response.
