Lukewarm response to KGF Kannada TV debut.KGF Chapter 1 TV Premiere Viewership Ratings
'KGF Chapter 1', the Kannada box office blockbuster action film, starring actor 'Rocking Star' Yash in the lead role of Rocky, made its Kannada television debut on Saturday, 30th March 2019. The film was telecasted on Colors TV network's Kannada GEC Colors Kannada. On its TV debut, 'KGF Chapter 1' was given the 7:00 PM evening slot. 'KGF Chapter 1', which is the highest grossing Kannada movie till date, was quite disappointing on its Kannada TV premiere. The film already had its Hindi TV Premiere on 9th March on Sony Max, and was released on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video on Feb 5th. But still, the film was expected to generate better viewership impressions during its Kannada debut in its home state of Karnataka, because it is where the movie made the most noise and was surrounded by humongous hype, and went-on to become an all-time Kannada blockbuster. But, guess the TV audience was't as much intrigued about the movie, like the movie-going audience.
On its Kannada TV Premiere, 'KGF Chapter 1' received only a moderate response from the TV audience. According to the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), 'KGF Chapter 1' could only gather around 65.07 lakh viewership impressions on its first showing on a Kannada TV channel. 'KGF Chapter 1' has turned-out to be quite an under-performer on TV.
