Update 2: BARC has now released the programs viewership data for week 13, after initially saying that programs data along with brands and advertiser data will not be released. We have updated this post accordingly.
Update: BARC hasn't released the programs data for this week. BARC in a statement said, "due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, partner's operations have got disrupted, and data for top programs, top advertisers and top brands is unavailable and hence will not be released"
The TRP Rating of 'Mahabharat' will be published this coming Thursday (9th April) by the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), the agency which measures the TV viewership in India. Even the TRPs of other TV programs which are being re-run are yet to arrive. However, even before BARC could officially release its ratings, the CEO of Prasar Bharathi, based on the provisional data by BARC, tweeted that the re-telecast of Ramayan on DD National garnered the highest ever rating for a Hindi GEC show since 2015!
According to the press-release by the PIB (Press Information Bureau) Govt. Of India, 'Mahabharat', 'Ramayan', 'Byomkesh Bakshi', 'Shaktimaan' and several other old TV programs are being re-aired due to public demand during the nation-wide 21 days lockdown due to COVID-19.
