'Mardaani 2', the action-thriller film featuring actress Rani Mukerji in the lead role of a police officer, had its satellite TV premiere on Saturday 11 April 2020. The film is directed by Gopi Puthran. 'Mardaani 2' was released at the Bollywood box-office on 13 Dec 2019, and it made its television debut almost four months after its initial theatrical release. 'Mardaani 2' was a HIT at the Indian box office.
'Mardaani 2's first TV broadcast was done on Star TV network's flagship GEC (General Entertainment Channel), Star Plus. The movie was allotted the prime-time slot of 8 p.m on Saturday, and 'Mardaani 2' did pretty well for a film with a female lead. 'Mardaani 2' took advantage of the nation-wide lock-down due to COVID-19, as it garnered good viewership during its satellite debut.
On its World TV Premiere, 'Mardaani 2' generated a good response from the TV audience. According to the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) TV viewership data for week 15, 'Mardaani 2' gathered around 51.57 lakh viewership impressions on its first telecast on Star Plus. The film was successful on TV as well like it was at the box office.
